Throughout 2013 GHF raised funds to build a much needed Health Center at the Kogi village of Mutanzhi on the trail to Ciudad Perdida. The construction of the Health Center began in March of 2014 using Superadobe, a stabilized soil building technique that minimizes the use of cement and brick and provides great formal flexibility. The indigenous community provided much of the labor and materials such as wood, sand, stone and soil. The Health Center will serve the local community and members of the indigenous communities at the site.

The center was completed on June 20th, and with the indigenous authorities we agreed to host an inaugural celebration on July 19th. The community of Mutanzhi is currently requesting basic supplies (examination bed, cabinets, etc.) from the indigenous health agency.
