Are Proud to Announce the Conference

TANGIBLE AND INTANGIBLE HERITAGE OF THE HAMPI REGION

January 16-18, 2009

NIAS, Bangalore, INDIA
This three day conference followed those held in Los Angeles, Houston, Mumbai and Bellary. Each has had a different set of sponsors, but all have focused on the Vijayanagara period. With a growing number of people attending, interest has risen in discussing a broader range of topics. In addition, the establishment of the Friends of Hampi in early 2008, and the increased number of conservation efforts underway means that the January 2009 Bangalore conference is intended to be even more inclusive for all concerned about the future of the region. This conference will be an illustrious gathering of leading scholars from India and abroad. The papers will cover subjects from archaeology and architecture through conservation and planning to song, dance and theatre.
