SAN FRANCISCO, UNITED STATES (July 11, 2017) –After months of fruitful conversation, Global Heritage Fund (GHF) and Lindblad Expeditions (LEX) have announced that they will develop a series of exclusive, co-branded expeditions together. Guests on these expeditions will experience the extraordinary quality that is a hallmark of Lindblad Expeditions, while deepening their knowledge and appreciation of cultural heritage.

“Lindblad Expeditions is the perfect partner for Global Heritage Fund,” said Stefaan Poortman, CEO for GHF. “With their extensive roster of expeditions and our world-class heritage sites, we can develop a program of cultural tourism that will provide an exceptional and inspirational experience. Guests will step off the dock with a deep appreciation for the importance of our global cultural heritage and a solid commitment to sustainable tourism and conservation.”

Since its founding in 2002, Global Heritage Fund has arranged small-scale trips for donors to view its work around the world. Such visits are vitally important for conserving these sites. When people see the world’s heritage sites firsthand, they gain a direct appreciation of their importance and the need to protect them. However, the nature of these visits has meant that only a select few donors could visit our projects in the company of GHF representatives, who could speak deeply about their importance and the nature of the work being done there, limiting GHF’s ability to scale person-to-site interactions.

Lindblad Expeditions and Global Heritage Fund share a common goal to protect and preserve unique, precious places throughout the world. Through this program, Global Heritage Fund and Lindblad Expeditions will publicize and promote GHF’s mission to sustainably preserve the most significant and endangered cultural heritage sites in developing regions of the world.
