2011 PROJECT PROGRESS

Planning

  • The first draft of the Master Conservation Plan has been completed and is awaiting further comments and supplementary information from Pinghe municipality.
  • A proposal for regional conservation and development plans was presented to local municipality by Shanghai Tongji University, and is awaiting further response from Pinghe municipality

Conservation

  • The team is currently preparing in-situ lab testing of conservation treatments for the site’s decorative elements, in preparation for a general site-wide conservation strategy.

 


 

In 2009-2010, significant progress was made at Fujian Tulous, including:

Planning

  • As a new project, this year the primary focus of the GHF Fujian Tulous project has been on the preparation of a Master Conservation Plan to guide the structures’ conservation as well as a Community Development Plan to address the community’s needs and how it can benefit from the conservation and development project
  • A regional protection plan for the Luxi region is also being prepared to complement the Master Conservation Plan with consistent underlying principles and goals

Conservation

  • Upon approval of the plans, expected by the end of the year, work to preserve this valuable heritage will begin in earnest.
