We are pleased to announce that Global Heritage Fund is now a member of The Heritage Alliance, the largest grouping of heritage interests in the UK. Our membership will allow us to further advance international heritage protection by providing global expertise at a crucial time in the development of this 130+ member organization.

As the United Kingdom’s biggest coalition of heritage interests, The Heritage Alliance envisions a society in which cultural heritage is valued, supported, and able to enrich everyone’s lives. This umbrella body is now expanding its initial emphasis on English heritage to a broader global focus. Given GHF’s decade in the UK and our 15 years of international experience, our new membership can uniquely assist with The Heritage Alliance’s international development.

At GHF, we champion people as the heart of heritage. The Heritage Alliance’s emphasis on capacity-building and engagement is closely aligned with our commitment to community-driven heritage protection. We look forward to working with The Heritage Alliance to advance the collective well-being of both cultural heritage and the people who are responsible for protecting it.

“We are delighted that The Global Heritage Fund has joined the Heritage Alliance, adding to our growing cohort of members bringing an international perspective and doing crucial development work across the world,” says The Heritage Alliance CEO Lizzie Glithero-West. “By joining the Alliance, they join their voice with over 140 organisations as we make the case everyday for why heritage matters both on a global and national scale. We look forward to representing their views in our advocacy work and tapping in their expertise and evidence as part of our projects on how heritage can solve a host of public challenges.”

“There’s a great wealth of know-how in Britain about heritage of all kinds. As a member of the Alliance, GHF is thrilled to be able to share and exchange this knowledge with our global network,” adds James Hooper, Director of GHF UK. “Now is a crucial time for cultural diplomacy and international relations. We look forward to taking an active role with the Alliance.”

Our new membership with The Heritage Alliance is another milestone in our mission of empowering people through cultural heritage beyond monuments®. We look forward to contributing our international expertise to The Heritage Alliance, and further enabling communities around the world to protect and benefit from their cultural and natural heritage.
