Teresa Patrício, President of ICOMOS, and Nada Hosking, Executive Director of Global Heritage Fund, put pen to paper on World Heritage Day (April 18th) to solidify this collaboration.

Teresa Patrício stressed the need for global partnerships in order to achieve sustainable development: “reconciling theory and practice, this partnership will mobilize our organizations to share our knowledge and expertise in order to harness the power of heritage to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs.”

“The mutually beneficial partnership aims to strengthen sustainable cultural heritage practices and foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the communities we partner with”, explained Nada Hosking. “Anchoring our work with the SDGs helps us as an organization to make measurable improvements over time and ensure our projects’ impacts are formally recorded against measurable data.”

We look forward to working with ICOMOS on strengthening sustainable cultural heritage practices around the world.
